Megève is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France with a population of over 4,000 residents. You can drive from Geneva to Megeve in 1.5 hours. In January, plan for daily highs up to 5°C, and evening lows to -1°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Wed) early enough to drive to Lyon.

Lyon is a historical city with a vibrant cultural scene as the birthplace of cinema, the silk capital of the globe, and the second biggest Renaissance city following Venice.

Start off your visit on the 27th (Thu): stroll around Parc de la Tete d'Or, admire the striking features of Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere, and then get to know the fascinating history of Colline de Fourviere.

You can drive from Megeve to Lyon in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Megeve in January, expect nights in Lyon to be about the same, around 1°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 9°C. On the 28th (Fri), you'll travel to Annecy.
