Rothiemurchus
Rothiemurchus Forest is a remnant of the Caledonian Forest at grid reference NH9209 near Aviemore, Badenoch and Strathspey, Highland, Scotland.
The forest is popular for recreation and contains important European wildlife, including the osprey, Scottish crossbill, capercaillie, crested tit and wild cat.
Stretching from the River Spey to the high mountain plateau, Rothiemurchus sits within the Cairngorms National Park.
Much of the forest is within the Rothiemurchus Estate, in the ownership of the Grant family since the 1540. The estate is now owned and managed by Johnnie Grant, 13th Earl of Dysart and 17th Laird of Rothiemurchus, along with his wife Philippa and their family. In 2014, Rothiemurchus Upper Forest - covering 2,300 hectares - was sold to Forestry Commission Scotland, for £7.4 million. Had a brilliant time out quad biking. Great fun, lots to see, lots of different tracks (up and down hill) and lots of water to go through. Stopped to have a look at the highland cows which was great. Informative guide and happy to take your photos.

Course starts off relatively easy and gets more exciting as it goes on. Helmets and safety glasses provided. Jamie was our guide. Close up views of scenery and local wildlife. Great fun, exciting and exhilarating. Would recommend for all ages.
