St Lawrence's Church, Bourton-on-the-Water

Firstly, the church is beautiful. It's recently been refurbished and buffed and polished to a high degree. There's something very comforting in being in a building that has stood firm in the community for centuries. It fills you with a sense of calm. Churches always reflect the history of a community, and are always a good place to start. Went to St Lawrence's for a double family Christening. The Vicar was delightful and made the service all about the girls, not minding when one found splashing in the font great fun. Although there was no singing allowed, masks worn, it was still memorable. A very special day.

Went to a family Christening. The vicar was absolutely lovely, making it a special service for the small people too. The Church is beautiful, after a fairly recent update. It's loveliness in It's simplicity. The Chancel ceiling was just beautiful, as is the screen. The whole atmosphere is calm and serene, yet welcoming. A wonderful place for some quiet contemplation or simply an interesting place to visit.
