Should be a free city museum, but ran by Brighton council who charge £9 to visit and then fine unsuspecting visitors who have driven there £70 on the way out of the city due to their bus gate...

I visited with my children aged 13 and 11 during a trip to Brighton. Interesting museum and a good place to spend an hour or so. The absolute highlight for us all was the excellent Roger Bamber...

Lovely museum, quite eclectic starting from a tribute to The Jam and the Mods'fashion, some amazing, unusual furniture including some quirky chairs that you love to own but wouldn't know where to put them in your home! There is also a couple of galleries dedicated to painters, and may more displays that should keep you occupied for a while. The staff is pleasant, polite and helpful and the boutique... well, everything was too tempting, and rather dear, but it's art, that I ended up with another dust catching fridge magnet! I wouldnt bring too young kids, nor daft teenagers, that would spoilt your enjoyment.

I visited this museum for the first time. It seems it may have recently re opened. Your ticket is good all year. You have to pay a small entrance fee if you are a non resident. Small but very varied and interesting collections.
