Create an itinerary including Great Orme
Accessible by a vintage tramway and a modern cable car, Great Orme is a prominent headland commanding extensive views of the area. Composed of limestone formed over a period of more than 300 million years, these old cliffs abound in fossil remains of primitive fish, sponges, corals, mollusks, and other invertebrates. The headland is part of a nature reserve that includes a Bronze Age copper mine, landscaped gardens, a parish church, and an award-winning summit complex. Tourist facilities include a gift shop, cafeteria, visitor center, play area, and hotel. Stop by on a clear day for a sweeping view stretching all the way to the Isle of Man. Put Great Orme on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Llandudno trip itinerary maker.

  • Typical money grabbing councils asserting control over the ability to get to the summit. They've literally blockaded it. Not even sure if it's all legal as closing a right of way isn't easy.

  • We walked up to the orme going past the tramway station, quite a steep climb that way. Some great views on the way up. We didn't use the tram but a good way to get up there if you have mobility issues. Some lovely views at the top there is a cafe at the top, insure of the menu or prices as we didn't use it. Several paths around the orme again the views are stunning. We went to St. Tudno's Church lovely inside very peaceful. Definitely worth a visit. We walked back down a different path which started after we came out ofthe church yard it came past the ski centre and ended back in town I thought it was a better path not so steep.
  • Nice place to come and bring a picnic. Can get very busy when the weather is nice but it is well worth the steep trip to the top to observe the views across the town and out to sea. There are loads of things to do whilst up here, the mines and the old church are great to explore. A good place to bring the camera and take some pictures.
