Trip Planner: Europe / UK / Scotland / Scottish Highlands / Ross and Cromarty / Poolewe / Inverewe Garden
One of the most beautiful places in Scotland, this 50-acre garden was created in 1862. It is an oasis of exotic plants, bursting with vibrant colour, thanks to the warm currents of the Gulf Stream that flows along the west Scottish coastline.Add Inverewe Garden and other attractions to your Poolewe trip itinerary using our Poolewe driving holiday website.
Rhododendrons from the Himalayas, eucalypts from Tasmania, olearia from New Zealand and other species from such far-flung places as Chile and South Africa, all flourish here, in a display that changes with the seasons.
As well as the Garden we have over 2,000 acres which we manage for conservation including the Pinewood Trail, Inverewe Trail and Kernsary Path. At the edge of Loch Ewe is a Wildlife Hide full of interesting facts and interpretation where seals, otters, divers and a rich variety of wildlife can be seen.
Only assistance dogs are permitted in the Garden, but there's a dog friendly Pinewood Trail (45mins circular walk) offering superb views of Inverewe Estate, Loch Ewe and the Highlands.

Inverewe Garden reviews
Lovely walk about the gardens. Lots of information available if wanted or you can happily wander about taking it all in. The cafe in the car park served lovely food too.

It was blowing a Force 6 and wet but still enjoyed a stroll around the incredible gardens. Sad to see so much storm damage but great to see the repairs underway. Osgood cafe was welcoming, warm, and delicious soup and sandwich just the job on a cold summers day.
One our my favourite stops on our NC500 trip. Gardens were stunning, helped by great weather, and pleasant to walk around an enjoy. Free for national trust members (Eng/Wales/NI included). Lovely helpful staff and nice gift shop. Would go again for sure if back in area. Our only issue was we arrived too late for the cafe but it looked good!
