Though its Scottish Gaelic name translates to "unattractive corrie," the mighty Corrieshalloch Gorge represents one of the most breathtaking attractions in the Western Highlands. The River Droma runs through the 1.5 km (0.9 m) long and 60 m (197 ft) chasm, dropping in a series of dramatic waterfalls, the most impressive of which is the 45 m (148 ft) Measach drop. You can access the gorge via number of trails that traverse the verdant nature reserve. Once you arrive, head to the viewing platform to best appreciate the falls' full force. Note that the swaying Victorian suspension bridge is not for the faint-hearted.
