The Henry Ford is a large indoor and outdoor museum complex featuring historical Americana. It is named after its founder, the automobile industrialist Henry Ford, who, in his own words, wanted to produce a record of "American life as lived." See John F. Kennedy’s presidential limousine, a Wright flyer replica, the chair President Lincoln was sitting in when he was assassinated, the Rosa Parks bus, and more. Outside you can explore the Greenfield Village: over 100 historical buildings were moved here and arranged in a village setting to show how Americans have lived and worked since the founding of the country. Watch a craft demonstration, such as pottery or glassblowing. It is a good idea to buy tickets for the on-site IMAX theater in advance. The museum was wonderful and creative. The little diner inside the place had great milkshakes and food as well as good service. All the exhibits had tons of interactive stuff to learn more about Henry Ford. I do have to say though that all of it wasn’t about Henry Ford a lot of it wasn’t. They had a wall where you could draw your ideas of what you think would be in the future it was cool that they took others opinion. I went on the racing simulator they had. My station, station 5 was fun. However I couldn’t move backwards when I crashed. And I crashed because they let a worker play when we were only missing one person for the group. The worker was aggressive while racing and wanted to be first and she crashed into me even though they tell the players not to crash into each other. And some of the stuff was not handicap accessible. Yes they had ramps on the stairs. But other stuff like when you could take a photo in the model-T, when you could look into a train, and the photo booths just to name a few. It was sad, I saw a lady with a wheelchair trying to take a picture with her son in the model-T but could get into to it and therefore had to learn really far over almost falling off her wheelchair.

I have been here many times and it is always a fun day! So much to look at and learn, it really is amazing. I love the Allegheny locomotive and the flight section is entertaining. I had no idea Ford tried to build planes. It has always been clean and the staff friendly and helpful. They had a Tiffany exhibit going the last time we visited and it was truly gorgeous.
