    It is closed for renovations. Surely they could have posted this info on their website. Very disappointed that we had planned our route and times around this visit

    We didn't know what to expect when we visited the Custer House. The furniture and fixtures are the same fixtures the house would have had in 1855. However, the museum has done a very good job...

    This is a great piece of history Fort Riley has been able to preserve. It is one of the oldest houses on post. Although it was not the actual house of general and libbie Custer, it is just down the street from where they lived and is complete with Furnishings. This house is currently maintained by the historic and archaeological society of Fort Riley (HASFR). It hosts for and ice cream social in the fall.
