  • I had several recommendations from friends and co-workers that I had to go to the Chelsea Market. I really didn't know what to expect. I had in mind a farmers market or art fair set up. I was wrong...

  • I liked it a lot! The restaurants & 'eateries' on top (the ground floor) were very tempting and well kept... some 'scrumptous' looking and all were patronized ...many more than half full, some PACKED and a few that served 'off the big board menus' ('grab it & go' type service) literally had lines wrapping around the inside and out the doors into the main walkway area... a very good sign! I was mesmerized and took many pictures... the people were fun to look at (just coming out of the pandemic) ...I had a chat or two... and also went down to the bottom... the basement floor... where there was shopping... excellent, gourmet, boutique and 'run of the mill' ...very clean and well maintained like the top and the variety of stores, shops and establishments was very wide. You could easily shop or eat for a month here and not have the same type of food once. "Worth the visit and a nice bit of fun!" - Evan
  • So many unique places are suffering vacancies but this place is full of adventure in a beautifully restored building. The location couldn't be better right next to the Hi Line and it was an easy and pleasant walk to it from our hotel at Washington Square. I would come here often if I was local and recommend it on your list of sights. There is a fantastic selection of restaurants, each with its own character and style. There is indoor and outdoor seating, a convenience store and the venue has been furnished brilliantly.
