The third largest museum in the country, Philadelphia Museum of Art holds a collection of more than 220,000 pieces, including masterpieces by Picasso, Dali, El Greco, Rubens, van Gogh, and Renoir. With an exterior familiar to most from the "Rocky" movies, the museum preserves the creative accomplishments of the entire world, containing over 200 galleries and spanning nearly 2,000 years of art history. The museum holds important artworks from Asia, notably a collection of Persian and Turkish carpets, as well as recreations of a Chinese palace hall, Japanese teahouse, and Indian temple. The European collection encompasses works from the Middle Ages to the present day, while the American galleries survey three centuries of painting, sculpture, and decorative arts. How can you NOT come see the steps that Rocky ran all those years ago?!?! Haha. It really is a spectacular building, beautiful panoramic views of the city, especially down towards city hall...

This was a fantastic museum with ongoing great exhibitions. I loved 'Matisse in the 1930s' and 'Macho men' exhibitions so much. Its permanent collections are huge. I couldn't even see half of it even though I've went this museums 2 days in a row ad spent 6 hours each day. I love impressionism so this place was like heaven. This museum also has great American Art collection which made me surprised. There was huge collection of glass art so if you love glass art this place is must go. Overall, this museum was one of the greatest museum in the US I've ever been to and I am planning to go back soon so I could see all of its collection. Admission ticket is awesome because you could use 2 days in a row with paying only 1 ticket and you could go to Rodin museum for free as long as you shows the ticket from Philadelphia Museum of Art. What an awesome deal for visitors!

Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of my favorite attractive places to go with the family. I'd take the kids to check out some rooms there and the history, I like that they have a cafe area in the ground level area. You can eat and drink whatever you like there. You can take pictures there as you wish. Also, I wish they open until 7 pm because 5 is early to be closed. I don't think I've any cons to mention. I highly recommend for family trips.
